Ann-Marie HeilmanAnn-Marie Heilman
CD/FW Company Member and Faculty Member

Ann-Marie Heilman is a professional movement artist residing in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. She has a diverse background in movement, giving her versatility and unique insight as a teacher, choreographer, and performer. When young, she trained with the Royal Academy of Fine Arts connected with the Clear Lake Metropolitan Ballet. She was Captain of her high school drill team, then went on to be a Kilgore College Rangerette, a collegiate performing group, and was a Swingster and Rt. End Lt. Ann-Marie continued her studies at Texas Christian University to receive her BFA in Modern Dance.

Ann-Marie has taught at Christ for the Nations Institute, danced with the Dallas Dance Company, and was a veteran instructor and judge with Starmakers for 10 years. She is currently on staff with Dance Revolution, Lifesong Studio, and the Ingredients professional dance company and trainee program. Ann-Marie and her husband, Jason, also have an international ministry. With CD/FW, she helps to coordinate the Neighborhood Arts Program and is a faculty member at the School. This is her seventh season with CD/FW.

Breanna KimbleyBreanna Kimbley
CD/FW Company Member and Faculty Member

Breanna Kimbley received her BFA in Modern Dance from Texas Christian University (2004), where she performed in works by guest artists Sabrina Castillo, Leah Cox, Christian von Howard, Nina Martin, and Caryn Heilman. She also performed with the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange while attending the American Dance Festival (Durham, North Carolina). She has taught modern dance, creative movement, ballet, tap, jazz, tumbling, and hip-hop for the All-Star Movement Educators and other studios throughout the metroplex. She is a faculty member for the Dancing Classrooms project (teaching ballroom dance in area public schools) and also works as a certified personal trainer. This is Breanna’s fourth season to teach and perform for CD/FW.

 

Kerry Kreiman Kerry Kreiman
CD/FW Executive/Artistic Director


Kerry Kreiman is the Executive/Artistic Director of Contemporary Dance/Fort Worth where she also directs the CD/FW School. In addition, she is a co-owner of and Top Mechanic for The Body Garage, a Pilates studio in Fort Worth. Kerry's teaching experience includes eight years as a guest lecturer and adjunct faculty member for Texas Christian University, including serving on the graduate faculty; three years as the director of the dance program at The Culver Academies, and one year as an adjunct faculty member at Saint Mary's College at Notre Dame.

Kerry was one of only 12 candidates to be accepted into a three-year modern dance technique teaching certification program (begun in Summer 2003 in WA), directed by the internationally-renowned master teacher Bill Evans, which she completed in 2006. She has continued to work with Mr. Evans as a faculty member for this program to assist in certifying other teachers. Kerry started teaching when she was 12, and has taught students from ages 3 and up in a multitude of settings from colleges/universities to recreation centers.

Kerry's extensive teaching experience includes teaching modern dance, ballet and jazz techniques, in addition to improvisation, repertory, dance history and philosophy, teaching methods, dance for athletes, creative movement, Pilates for dancers, and choreography. Kerry holds a BFA in Modern Dance and a BA in Philosophy from TCU, in addition to a MFA in Dance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is certified as a Pilates instructor through Balanced Body University. You can read more about her credentials here.

Courtney MulcahyCourtney Mulcahy
CD/FW Faculty Member


Courtney Mulcahy is from San Antonio, Texas and has instructed in the areas of ballet, modern, jazz, choreography, improvisation, dance history, music for dance, dance conditioning, and Latin ballroom for over 7 years at places such as Ballet Arts, Texas State University, The American College Dance Festival, Texas A&M International University, and starting in fall 2009 at Tarrant County College-Northwest.

Courtney was the founder and director of the Laredo Dance Initiative, the first modern dance company in Laredo, TX, and was commissioned by the Laredo Philharmonic Orchestra to choreograph the Rite of Spring. She has also performed with such companies as The Dance Theatre of Harlem, Spectrum Dance Company, The San Antonio Dance Company, The San Antonio Metropolitan Dance Company, and Candela Latin Dance Company.

Courtney has received several honors and awards for her unique and thought-provoking choreographies. In 2006, her work “Hush” was selected to represent Sam Houston State at the ACDFA festival in Laramie, Wyoming. She has attended such prestigious workshops as the Dance Camera West workshop in Los Angeles, CA, the American Dance Festival in Durham, NC and the Bill Evans Dance Teacher Intensive in Seattle, WA. She holds a BSHE in Fashion Merchandising from Texas State University and a MFA in Dance from Sam Houston State University. This is her first season as a CD/FW faculty member.


 

Sarah NewtonSarah Newton
CD/FW Company Member and Faculty Member

Sarah Newton holds a Master’s of Fine Arts degree from Texas Woman’s University and is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Sam Houston State University, where she holds a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Dance. She is a member of Contemporary Dance/Fort Worth and Out On a Limb Dance Company, and has also performed professionally with the Kista Tucker Dance Company, and MAMandSCHLECTE Dance, including appearances on the Barefoot Brigade Dance Festival and The NOTcracker.

Sarah is a well-seasoned performer with credits including a solo choreographed by Dr. Linda Caldwell that was performed at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She toured New Zealand with the Pickwick Players (a youth theatre troupe offered by audition only) in the lead role of “The Hundred Dresses.” She is certified to teach mat and equipment Pilates through Balanced Body University, and her dance training includes study at the American Dance Festival.

Sarah has taught modern dance, hip-hop, creative movement, ballet, jazz, tap, body conditioning, and dance fitness (salsacise, dancercise) to students of all ages. She also serves as adjunct faculty for Texas Christian University and Tarrant County College’s Northwest Campus. This is her second season as a faculty member for CD/FW and her third season performing with the CD/FW company.

Crystal TaylorCrystal Taylor
CD/FW Company Member and Faculty Member

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Crystal Taylor received both her BFA in Ballet and Master’s of Education in Secondary Dance Education from Texas Christian University. She began her classical ballet training in Germany, later continuing her training in the U.S. at the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet School and the Schaffenburg Ballet Academy (Fort Worth). She has also studied internationally at the London Contemporary Dance School and the Richard Alston Dance Company in London, England. She participated in the Glenda Brown Choreography project as a choreographer and in professional dance workshops at the San Francisco Dance Centre.

Crystal has worked and/or studied with such artists as Maria Brolin-Tani, Thom Clower, Mary Cochran, Todd Edson, Titas Fatso, Espen Giljane, General MacArthur Hambrick, Christian von Howard, Alonzo King, John Landovsky, Eduardo Lao, Vladimir Malakhov, Margaret Mercier-Wolf, Robert Moses, Ramón Oller, Andy Parkhurst, Ben Stevenson, Sharon Story and Victor Ullate. While at TCU, she performed works by faculty members Li-Chou Cheng, Elizabeth Gillaspy, Kerry Kreiman, Dr. Keitha Manning and the late Fernando Bujones.

Crystal has performed professionally with Andrews Dance Company, Ballet Concerto, Contemporary Ballet Dallas, New World Ballet, North Texas Ballet Theatre, and Skånes Dansteater in Sweden. She has taught at the Swedish National Ballet School in Malmö, Sweden, as well as at various studios in North Texas. Crystal began performing with CD/FW in the summer of 2007 and this marks her third season as a company member and faculty member.
